TRIM, TRIM, TRIM
Trim your wicks, folks! Trimming the wick to 1/4" before every burn is super important because it helps the candle burn properly. It doesn't matter what you use – scissors, fancy wick trimmers, and nail clippers will all get the job done.
LET IT BURN...
Allow your candle to burn until it reaches a full melt pool. This means the wax has melted evenly to the edges of the container. Soy wax has a memory, so it's especially important to reach a full melt pool during every burn. Extinguishing your candle early will result in tunneling and a shorter lifespan.
BUT NOT FOR TOO LONG...
As much as you may love your candle, don't burn it for more than 4 hours at a time. Tealights should be burned for no more than 1 hour at a time. Burning your candle beyond these points can result in an extremely hot container, carbon build up on the wick, an unstable flame and black soot around the edges of the vessel.
...OR TOO FAR AWAY
- Always burn your candle within sight!
