Loyalty is a love language.

When you love a scent, you really love it. That kind of commitment is rare. We want to make sure the two scents we offer you are worth keeping.

Your strengths

You're a reliable person who loves a routine. When you love a scent, you LOVE it and will remain loyal to it regardless of trends. People in your life probably know you for your signature scent, which is an invisible superpower in and of itself. For you, fragrance is a long-term relationship. It's about expressing your identity and building memories throughout all the phases of your life.

What to work on

It takes a lot for you to get your head turned by something new. This isn't a bad thing by any means, but because you are so committed to the things you love, you want to be conscious of closing yourself off too much. Routines are fantastic for building self-esteem, but if they start feeling rigid, it might be time to make some tweaks. Flexibility is important too!

What to try

Let yourself be surprised and delighted. Smell fragrances from a brand that's totally new to you. Is there something drawing you in? Maybe get a travel size of a fragrance that piques your interest and wear it a couple times a week instead of your signature scent. How did you feel wearing it? Did your loved ones notice? Is it something you want to keep exploring, or has it made you fall in love all over again with your signature scent? Remember, this isn't about losing your je ne sais quoi—it's about expanding it.

Your two New Savant scents

Cloud Gazer — A soft-edged signature in the making. Fresh bergamot, lavender sprigs, and creamy chamomile at the top, then earl grey tea, dried cornflowers, and misted freesia in the middle, then steamed vanilla, warm tonka, and cedarwood at the base. The scent equivalent of an overcast morning that gives you permission to slow down.

The Usual — Named after the thing you reach for without thinking. Cocoa dusting and pistachio at the top, then black coffee, smooth caramel, and vanilla bean in the heart, sueded oak, soft cedarwood, and smoked patchouli at the base. Gourmand without being sweet, woody without being austere. If a routine had a smell, this would be it.

A note from The New Savant

We're a queer, women-owned fragrance studio. Every scent we make starts with a story — grief, queer longing, identity, joy, the in-between — and we pour them into candles because we want you to slow down, pay closer attention, and let your nose lead.

Smell is the only sense we never really stop training. The more you use it, the more it shows you. That's the whole point of what we do.
